Why families choose Hereford

Built Different. On Purpose.

Development First

Winning matters — but not more than getting better. Every practice plan is built around reps, feedback, and measurable growth for every kid on the roster, not just the top of the lineup.

One Pipeline, Ages 8–18

Most programs end at 12U. Ours doesn't. Players can grow from their first travel season through big-field club ball inside one organization, one culture, one set of expectations.

Community Run

We're built by Hereford Zone families, for Hereford Zone families. Your dues fund fields, umps, and equipment — not a corporate franchise fee.

Two programs. One herd.

8U–12U Travel

Where Bulls are made.

The travel program is a player's first step into competitive baseball. Sanctioned league play in spring and fall, tournament ball in summer, and winter training that builds fundamentals, game IQ, and confidence at the plate.

  • A team at every age — B teams where numbers support them
  • Spring & fall leagues, summer tournaments, winter workouts
  • Small-field focus: fundamentals, base running, situational play

13–18 Club

Where Bulls are proven.

Club ball carries players onto the 60/90 field and gets them ready for what's next. Advanced positional work, arm care and strength, and schedules built around school ball — so Hereford players show up to high school tryouts ready.

  • 13U through 17/18U rosters
  • Summer & fall seasons that respect school-ball commitments
  • Big-field transition, velocity & strength, varsity prep

Our home field advantage

Raised in the Zone

"The Zone" isn't a slogan we invented — it's what everyone in northern Baltimore County calls this place. Farm roads, Friday nights, and neighbors who show up for each other. Our teams carry that with them to every field they visit.

When you wear the bull, you represent every family in the Hereford Zone. That's why our players run everything out, thank the umps, and rake the field before they leave. It's not extra. It's the standard.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Don't see your question? Email your division commissioner — real people, real answers, usually same-day.

How much does a season cost?

Dues vary by age group and season based on league fees, tournament entries, umpires, and field costs. Contact your division commissioner for the current season's numbers and what's included.

What's the time commitment?

Expect roughly two practices per week plus weekend games during spring and fall league play, with tournament weekends in summer. Club (13–18) schedules are built around school-ball commitments.

How do age groups work?

A player's division is determined by their age on April 30 of the season year. Not sure where your player lands? Ask — we'll sort it out in one email.

What's the difference between A and B teams?

Where numbers support it, an age group fields two rosters so more kids get real innings at the right level of competition. Both wear the bull, both get the same coaching standard, and players can move between rosters as they develop.

My player has never played travel ball. Should they try out?

Yes. Tryouts are an evaluation, not a cut list — every player gets a fair look from multiple evaluators, and B rosters exist exactly so developing players get a real season, not a bench spot.

Where do you practice and play?

Practices are held at Hereford Middle School in the heart of the Zone. League games and tournaments take place at fields across northern Baltimore County and the surrounding region — schedules are shared by each team's coach.

Tryouts & new players
