Winning matters — but not more than getting better. Practices are planned so every kid gets real reps and real feedback, not just the top of the lineup. Coaches here notice when your kid improves, and they say so.
Room to Develop
When enough players come out for an age group, we form two teams — Maroon and Gold, named for our colors. Same jerseys, same coaching standard, and kids move between teams as they develop.
A Non-Profit Organization
Hereford Travel Baseball is a non-profit run by volunteers. Dues go toward fields, umpires, equipment, and the cost of the season. The people running the program have kids in it.

Questions
How much does a season cost?
Dues depend on the age group and season — they cover league fees, tournaments, umps, insurance, uniforms, and fields, and nothing goes into anyone's pocket. Exact numbers are shared with families during registration rather than posted publicly.
What's the time commitment?
Plan on a couple of practices a week plus weekend games in spring and fall, with tournament weekends in summer. It's a real commitment — and the kids will tell you it's worth it.
How do age groups work?
Your player's age on April 30 of the season year sets their group. Not sure where your kid lands? Ask — we'll sort it out in one email.
How do Maroon and Gold rosters work?
When lots of kids come out for an age group, we make two teams instead of cutting — Maroon and Gold, named for our colors. Kids are grouped so their games fit where they are right now, which is how they actually get better. Same jerseys, same coaches, and plenty of kids move between the two as they grow.
My player has never played travel ball. Should they try out?
Yes — bring them. Nerves are normal and the coaches know it. A few different coaches watch every kid, and hustle and coachability count as much as talent. Forming two teams at the bigger age groups also means more players get a spot in the program.
What happens after 12U?
Our program runs through the 12U season. Many of our players continue with the Hereford Baseball Club organization for ages 13 and up — a separate organization.
Where do I find my team’s schedule?
Rosters, game schedules, and practice schedules all live in GameChanger, a free app. Rostered families receive an invite from their coach at the start of the season — accept it and turn on notifications for scores, schedule changes, and live game updates.
Where do you practice and play?
Practices are held at Hereford Middle School in the heart of the Zone. League games and tournaments take place at fields across the surrounding region and vary by team — schedules are shared by each team's coach.
